Academic Excellence is Elementary in Clarke

The elementary school students in Clarke County have been hard at work since returning from summer break and the first quarter results demonstrate the fruits of their labor. Thanks to the efforts of School Counselor Tina M. Johnston, who provided the following lists,  the Clarke Daily News is proud to publish and celebrate the academic accomplishments of our future leaders. Congratulations to all!

  14. ON THE FENCE says:

I dunno…I think reporting an acedemic honor roll, especially in a small town, is a time honored tradition and I support it.

However, I am unclear what constitues a “great student” from a 5 or 6 year old kid at Primary.

ALL 5 and 6 year olds are great-right?

Case in point: I recognnized a few students from Cooley who spent the DAY in the Pinicipal’s office at Primary who are now Honor students .

I also know of a few Cooley kids who were exceptionally bright( yet disruptive) who were forced/asked to leave.

  15. tellin the truth says:

Well on the fence… if you will please jump back on the “other side” where you and your kind can keep the negativity over there. Great job to all staff and students at Cooley. Keep shining right on through those stormy negitive remarks. Job well done by all!.
Just so you know… people can LEARN FROM THIER MISTAKES….IF THEY HAVE AN OPEN MIND.
EVEN IF THEY MAY HAVE MADE A FEW BAD CHOICES….that does not mean they wont have good grades. Academics was the siginficence of the article, not behavior.
The truth is why are you spending your time worried about the children in the office that may or may not be in trouble in both of those schools …IF THEY ARE NOT YOUR KIDS?
    AGAIN GREAT JOB COOLEY KIDS!!!!!!!!!

    • ON THE FENCE says:

“The truth is why are you spending your time worried about the children in the office that may or may not be in trouble in both of those schools …IF THEY ARE NOT YOUR KIDS?”

      Because I care.
