Accident on Parker Lane Injures Two

A single vehicle accident that occurred on Parker Lane near the Shenandoah River injured two on Friday July 13th.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Parker Lane and Route 7. State Police said fifty-eight year-old Leslie Ortley of Bluemont Va. was driving a 1988 Chevy S-10 pickup truck southbound on Parker Lane. Ortley ran off the left side of the road .6 miles north of Route 7, over-corrected and subsequently crossed Parker Lane running off the right side of the road where the vehicle struck a tree and a utility pole. Emergency crews responding to the scene found the driver and a passenger, thirty-six year old Robert Ennis of Catlett Va. injured from the crash.

The driver was medevaced to Inova Medical Center in Fairfax with serious injuries.

The passenger was transported to Winchester Medical Center.

No information is available on their conditions.

The accident is being investigated by VSP Trooper D.R. Ayers.

    Trooper Ayers I hope you investigate fully. Posted speed on Parker is 15 mph. Truck displayed no plates, county sticker, or inspection. Truck tire and rim left an impressive dent in the telephone pole.

    I don’t wish those individuals ill will but certainly hope the Trooper follows thru with a list of all infractions.
