Attempted Abduction on Swift Shoals Road

On July 27, 2010 at approximately 7:15 am, the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an attempted abduction in the 1400 block of Swift Shoals Road.

According to police the victim was jogging down Swift Shoals Road when she was approached by a white male driving a full size green truck.   The driver stopped and asked the victim for directions.   When the victim approached the vehicle the driver reached out the window and took hold of victim around the arms/shoulders in an attempt to pull her towards truck. The victim was able to free herself and run into woods.

Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect or the vehicle.

The truck is described as a full-sized solid green green truck of an unknown make with silver running boards and a trailer hitch.

The driver is described a white male 5’10” to 6′, medium build, black hair with gray mixed in cut short but somewhat scraggly, a mustache (also dark with gray mixed in), wearing khaki cargo style shorts and gray shirt.   The suspect was also wearing   sunglasses and gold ring with a stone setting in the style of a class ring.
