Raise your bidding paddles! The Barns of Rose Hill’s Sixth Annual Auction Gala will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011 at The Millwood Country Club, 340 Country Club Road, Boyce Virginia.
An elegant evening begins with music by the GK Trio, cocktails and appetizers, and greeting friends while surveying our unique live and silent auction items. Dinner will be provided by Six Star Catering.
Original artwork donated by noted artists will be one of the highlights of our auction. Don Black, Barbara Byrd, Ting-Yu Chen, Ed Cooper, Howard Cuveron, Snow Fielding, Charles Logan, Julie Read, Pam Singer, and Cheryl Voytek have generously provided pieces of their work. Liz Dunning has donated a framed portrait to be painted of a child or adult of your choice. Several of the paintings donated to the gala are on display in storefront windows on Main Street in Berryville including Morning Stroll by Charles Logan – Jim Barb Realty, A Solitary Soldier by Cheryl Voytek – J. Douglas Moler Insurance, Wild Tom by Charles Pitcock – Norma Green Barber Shop, and Roue by Geneva Welch – Malucci’s Bakery.
A special and unique gift to the Barns is Orange Socks II, a painting by the late Bill Whiting, beloved artist, Clarke County native and generous supporter of the Barns. This painting can be viewed at Edward Jones in Berryville. In memory of Bill Whiting and his generosity and his ties to Clarke County, The Barns has decided to offer this wonderful painting in our live auction with a $7,500 reserve. The winning bidder will receive a letter of opinion from Caulfield Gallery located in Little Washington, Virginia attesting to the painting’s value and authenticity.
The excitement builds throughout the evening for a chance to capture luxurious getaways – imagine a week’s stay in a San Francisco “Painted Lady” Victorian home – accommodations for 7; or ten days in a deluxe Palm Springs vacation home (La Quinta, California) – 4 bedrooms with swimming pool and access to nearby golf courses. Experience the thrill of the Fall Middleburg Races by bidding on a slot by the rail for you and your friends. Enjoy the excitement of a one hour helicopter ride with Jim Webb! Vintage collectibles, professional services, jewelry, and antiques are all donations from our community supporters.
Anticipation mounts for the drawing of the winning raffle ticket, “a romantic three course dinner” for two with overnight accommodations in a premier room at L’Auberge Provencale, available mid-week Sunday – Thursday. Raffle tickets are $5 each, or $25 for 6 tickets and may be found in local businesses.
