Berryville Graphics Adds 68 People to Unemployment Rolls

Berryville Graphics, a book manufacturing company in Berryville, announced Wednesday morning that it will immediately eliminate 68 positions in order to cut operating costs and remain competitive.
The cuts come as Berryville Graphics continues to struggle in the cost competitive global publishing industry. The company released approximately 50 workers in May 2009 after an smaller layoff last January.

Employees targeted for the layoff are being offered severance packages.

Berryville Graphics is one of the largest, fully automated, hardcover and softcover book manufacturers in the United States. Berryville Graphics and Offset Paperback are part of Bertelsmann AG, a worldwide corporation with expertise in entertainment, publishing, printing and distribution. Berryville Graphics produces nearly 120 million books each year at its manufacturing facility in Berryville, Virginia.
