Powhatan School Fire Alarm

At 4:15 pm on Friday multiple fire and rescue units responded to an alarm at Powhatan School.

Clarke County Central Dispatch relays from the school site indicated that a teacher leaving a school building reported a space heater that was emitting a strange odor. Fire crews on scene located the heater and are took appropriate preventative steps. No fire occurred at the school.

The incident occurred at the end of school and sources say that no students were at the facility when the alarm occurred.
