The Clarke County community will come together Saturday, July 24 at 10:00 a.m. to celebrate construction commencement of the long-awaited new high school.
The celebration will include:
Lot’s of food and free stuff:
FREE commemorative tee-shirts for first 250 attendees!
FREE ice cream (courtesy of Schwans)
FREE cookies (courtesy of SODEXO)
FREE bottled water (courtesy of COSTCO)
FREE balloons (courtesy of PTO support from JWMS, Cooley, Boyce Elementary and Berryville Primary schools)
Student volunteers: Meet the members of the SCA, Football Players, Cheerleaders and the CCHS Eagle mascot.
Shovel Decorating Contest: The best adult and child’s decorated shovels, in the discretion of local celebrity judges, will receive a prize.
Special Ceremony: Student leaders representing each of Clarke County’s four schools will lead a dedication ceremony.
Souvenir Programs: Commemoration of community members and organizations who came together to make it happen.
Big Dig Event: Led by the CCHS 2013 Class President (representing the first graduating class of the new CCHS!)
Location: Across from D. G. Cooley Elementary School in the cleared field
Parking: At D. G. Cooley Elementary School and CCHS (Note: Shuttle service available for those in need)
EVERYONE is encouraged to bring a shovel from home to help start the digging!
