Comments

  1. NO BONFIRE????? Geez, just get a firetruck from Enders to stand guard at the bonfire to prevent any issues. This is homecoming, let the kids get pumped up!!

    • Having a bonfire would be a double standard. Besides, I don’t want my tax dollars going to such tomfoolery.

      • It’s called “School Spirit”. You would think that in light of the past few months events, something school spirit related would be viewed as a welcome distraction.

Sounds like you have a double standard, Jim.

  2. I encourage everyone to send an email to chief@endersfire.com and firecaptain@endersfire.com and ask them to help make the bonfire a reality!

    • It would not be safe given the hazardous conditions. Let’s teach our kids to live by the rules. The kids will learn by example. 🙂

      • It would be completely safe if a firetruck was standing by in case of any incidents.

      • CCHS Parent says:

Although I agree with you on this, I have to disagree with your previous comment. It is all about school spirit and CCHS deserves to celebrate for Homecoming. Our tax dollars do not support this as the children collect pallets from Berryville Graphics and other companies. The kids put alot of hard work into Homecoming Week!!

        • Email the County Administrator and your BOS representatives!!! Let the kids have their homecoming bonfire!!

          • Fire Danger says:

Issued by The National Weather Service
            Baltimore/Washington, MD
            12:44 pm EDT, Tue., Sep. 14, 2010

… ENHANCED WILDFIRE THREAT THIS AFTERNOON…

BEHIND A COLD FRONT… NORTHWEST WINDS WILL BE 10 AND 15 MPH WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 25 MPH THIS AFTERNOON. THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY WILL DROP TO AROUND 30 PERCENT… WHILE FUEL MOISTURE DECREASES. THIS COMBINATION WILL POSE AN ENHANCED THREAT FOR WILDFIRES ACROSS CENTRAL AND NORTHERN VIRGINIA… MOST OF MARYLAND AND THE EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA PANHANDLE THROUGH EARLY EVENING.

OPEN BURNING IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED TODAY. A BURNING BAN REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR ALL COUNTIES IN EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA.

The weather for this week is pretty much the same, there’s a very slight chance of rain on Thursday.

You tell people to take off their blinders, well now its your turn.

Its completely unreasonable what you’re asking for under these conditions.

I suggest you e mail mother nature.

          • She blocks my emails. 🙂
