Clarke County Students Participating in Math Contests

347053_mathematicsTwenty of the best and brightest CCHS math students will be participating in the AMC 10 and AMC 12 Math Contests on Wednesday, February 24 at Clarke County High School.
The AMC 10 Math Competition and AMC 12 Math Competition are national contests that consist of 25 multiple choice questions using no calculators. Problems range from easy to extremely difficult. Approximately 12 questions are common to both the AMC 10 and AMC 12 contests. The AMC 10 Test is for 9th and 10th grade students and covers subject matter normally associated with grades 9 and 10. The AMC 12 Test is open to any high school student. The test covers the high school mathematics curriculum, excluding calculus. The purpose of the test is to increase interest in mathematics and to develop problem solving through a friendly, AND FUN, competition. For students who score extremely well, there are possible national awards that these students may earn by competing in this contest.
