The Clarke School division rumbled through the recent earth tremor with only minor problems according to Clarke County School Superintendent Dr. Michael Murphy.
“All schools were inspected by staff after quake,” Murphy said. “Depending on the site, a combination of administrative, custodial, maintenance staff did the inspections.”
Murphy said that minor hairline cracks were found in some sheetrock, but no apparent or obvious damage was observed at any site including the new high school.
As a precaution against future similar shakes, Murphy said that the administrative team has since reviewed earthquake protocols to ensure we are prepared in the future.
