Minor Earthquake in Central Virginia

The U.S. Geological Survey says a minor earthquake has hit Virginia 30 miles south of Fredericksburg, Virginia.
The magnitude 3.0 earthquake happened at 4:17 p.m. Saturday. Earthquakes occur on faults within bedrock, usually miles deep. This quake occurred at a depth of 11.9 miles. There have been no reports of injuries or damages.
