Middleburg Eccentric Founder Charged With 15 Counts of Embezzlement

Middleburg Police Chief Steven L. Webber released the following information Tuesday, November 30, 2010.
As the result of a joint investigation involving the Middleburg Police Department and the Virginia State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Deanne D. Hubbard, 66, of Middleburg was arrested and charged with (15) counts of Felony Embezzlement.

Berryville Resident Sues Local Newspaper

Berryville resident, Kenneth D. Liggins, has filed a $30 million lawsuit against a local newspaper and two of its reporters charging the newspaper acted recklessly in its reporting of a 2008 Clarke County School Board meeting in which Liggins was ordered to stop speaking by School Board Chairman, Robina Bouffault during a public comment period.

Berryville Woman Dies in Single-Vehicle Accident

A Berryville resident died Wednesday night as a result of injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident in Frederick County. 40 year old Tara Whetzel Ketron, who lived on Walnut Street in Berryville, died at approximately 11:30PM at Winchester Medical Center.
