Fatal Accident on Route 50 in Clarke County

An accident involving a deer claimed the life of a man on Sunday evening in Clarke County. According to Virginia State Police, the incident occurred in the westbound lane of Route 50 near Bishop Meade Rd. at approximately 8:15PM. Fifty-four year old, David Kackley of Gore, Virginia was riding a 1995 Suzuki motorcycle when he struck a deer in the roadway. Kackley died as a result of his injuries.

Kackley was a retired Virginia Law Enforcement Officer, and former Military Policeman in the US Army. He worked as a private contractor as a Law Enforcement advisor and also served as an instructor with BSR, an advanced Summit Point Raceway driver training program.
