Heavy snow on Wednesday night has been cleared from major roads by the Virginia Department of Transportation. Route 7 and Route 340 were dry and open by Thursday afternoon, however, many secondary roads are still icy this morning. Temperatures this morning are below freezing in both Leesburg and Winchester.
Road conditions will likely improve over the next five days as daytime highs are predicted to reach the upper 30’s each day, but not before Clarke County sees a possible additional inch of snow this morning.
Rappahannock Electronic Cooperative (REC) crews have restored power to nearly all customers. As of Friday morning only 217 members were without power, 12 in Clarke County. No power outages are reported in Berryville.
