Friends of Scouting Dinner in Clarke County

The Mannahoac District, Boy Scouts of America announces that Betty Weller, Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager at Bank of Clarke County, has agreed to serve as the 2012 Friends of Scouting Chair for Clarke County.

Betty has assembled her team of volunteers that will organize the Clarke County Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner honoring Billy Milleson. The purpose of the dinner is to honor an outstanding citizen of Clarke County and to raise the necessary funds so that Scouting may continue to grow and offer a quality program to the youth of Clarke County. Last year’s DCA recipient was C.T. Hardesty with over $14,000 raised for Scouting. Our goal this year is $16,000.

The Mannahoac District, organized in 2002 covers Clarke County and Jefferson County in West Virginia. They have earned the National Quality District Award six of the last eight years. Currently over 900 youth call themselves Scouts with over 300 adults serving as leaders in the Mannahoac District.
