High School Plant Sale Begins

It’s that time of year again as members of the Clarke County Horticulture classes roll out the fruits of their labor in the annual plant sale to the community. From ornamentals to vegetables the students will be selling a variety of plants to the public. Hanging baskets, Geraniums, Verbena, and Petunia‚Äôs are just a few of the beautiful flowering plants which the students have been growing this spring semester. These make great Mother’s Day gifts. For the home gardeners there is also a wide selection of vegetable seedlings including tomato plants, peppers, watermelon, and pumpkins.

The sale begins today and will through May 11th 2012 from 8:00 am till 5:00 pm at the greenhouse located behind the Clarke County High School. Proceeds from the sale of the plants goes to help fund the purchase of materials and supplies for students enrolled in agriculture education classes.
