On Friday, September 23rd, Natalie Wright and Katie Longerbeam, representing the Hout 4-H Club, met with Mike Malucci from FISH of Clarke County to present a check for $300 to help with the local food bank.
FISH of Clarke County is a group of people banded together to help their neighbors. Since October 1969, FISH has been a strength and support to the troubled and needy in this county. With and through the local churches, the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, the Department of Social Services, and the generous gifts of county citizens, FISH has brought people and families through countless crises and situations. Our faithful counselors interview applicants for financial assistance so that we might give both wisely and with compassion. Wonderful volunteers also man our Clothing and Food Banks. Our policy is to help without causing dependency.
With the current economic situation it is more important than ever to support them in their efforts to provide assistance to those that need help in our community. The members of Hout 4-H would like to extend a friendly challenge to other area youth groups, businesses and individuals to make a donation to this organization.
