Johnson-Williams wrestlers traveled to Winchester Thursday night to compete in the NVJL Championship.  J-WMS fielded thirteen wrestlers, eight of which made the championship round, and five came away with a finals win.  Robert Pryor opened up the championship round for the Cougars with a pin against Daniel Morgan’s Josh Doberstyn in the second period.  Jacob Parrott was the next in the line-up and scored a first period pin against Warren County’s Kevin Cruz.  Bayne Gordon took the mat next against Daniel Morgan’s Noe Jimenez and claimed the tournaments quickest pin at thirteen seconds from the start of the match.  Bayne became Johnson-Williams first two time NVJL wrestling champion with his victory.  Craig Genda was the fourth Cougar to step on the mat and found the fourth to find victory pinning Daniel Morgan’s Cole Capitano in the second period in front of a stunned opposing crowd.  The Cougars dropped the next two matches, but Brian Wallace broke the dry streak and found the last Cougar win of the evening with a third period pin against a very tough Anthony Smith from Daniel Morgan.
