County singer, Jamey Johnson, will be the feature entertainment at the 57th Annual Clarke County Fair on August 20, 2011 in Berryville, Virginia.
Jamey Johnson is an acclaimed singer-songwriter and has won numerous ACM and CMA awards. His 2008 album, That Lonesome Song, features the hit “In Color” and in 2009 that song was named Song of the Year by both the ACM and the CMA. During 2009 and 2010 he collected five Grammy Award nominations. The album, The Guitar Song, was released in 2010 which includes a 25-song, double album with thematically linked sets of songs dubbed the “Black Album” and the “White Album.”
Jamey has toured with some of country music biggest artists including Hank Williams Jr., Kid Rock and performed with Willie Nelson. He has also written award winning songs such as 2005’s “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” co-written for Trace Adkins and “Give it Away”, co-written for George Strait.
Jamey Johnson will perform the closing evening of the Clarke County Fair on Saturday, August 20th at 8:30 p.m. Track seats cost $30 and grandstand seats cost $25. Tickets go on sale June 4 at the Clarke County Ruritan Fairgrounds and will be available at the Fair Ticket Office every Saturday and Sunday from 5-7 p.m. Tickets can also be ordered via mail. Another highlight of the Fair is Gospel Night which will be held Thursday, August 18th featuring Mark Lowry at 8:00 p.m. Mark Lowry has been making people laugh, cry and think for over 40 years. He performs with the Gaither Vocal Band and is featured on most of the Gaither Homecoming videos. He has recorded six comedy and music videos. And in 1984 he wrote and performed the Christmas favorite “Mary, Did You Know?”
Ticket prices are $15 for track seats and $10 for grandstand. Ticket prices do not include the gate admission of $7.
The Clarke County Fair is schedule for August 14-20, 2011 in Berryville, VA. Other entertainment includes Audience of One, Sunshine & the Rainmakers, Berryville Baptist Rascals Puppet Show. And of course, all the old favorites will still be there- the Miss Clarke County Fair, Junior Miss Clarke County Fair and Little Miss contests, pig scrambles, demolition derbies, truck and tractor pulls, lawn mower racing, bull riding, livestock exhibits and the carnival rides. Carnival rides are provided by Cole Amusements and will feature two Ride-All-Night for One Price (pricing announced later) on Monday, August 15th and Thursday, August 18th.
