Four Johnson-Williams wrestlers traveled to James Madison high school in Vienna to participate in the 2011 Turkey Tussle wrestling tournament. Bayne Gordon went undefeated to capture first place in the 90 pound weight class. First year grappler Andrew Erickson showed an outstanding effort, ignoring a goose egg injury from his first math and sweep all of his opponents in the 112 pound weight class. Clayton Murphy, another first year wrestler, physically dominated most of his opponents finishing 3-1 to secure second place at his the 160 pound weight class.
Before the match the wrestlers attended a clinic with 2x NCAA champion, NCAA pin record holder, and National Wrestling Hall of Fame member Wade Schalles.
