Katie M. Gaskins of Winchester, Virginia, slipped quietly into eternal rest with the Lord at Blue Ridge Hospice Center in Winchester, Virginia. Her life began 91 years ago on June 19, 1920 in Berryville, Virginia to the late Harry Joseph Moss and Kate Robinson Moss.

Ms. Katie was a fun, loving, cheerful and a devoted person. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Douglas Gaskins whom she loved and adored.

She was brought up in a Christian home, with parents who feared and love the Lord.  At the age of 17 years old, she was led to the Zion Baptist Church in Berryville, VA, where the pastor was the late J.S. As a member of Zion Baptist Church, she served the Lord in many capacities, which included the Senior Choir, where she held the position as Vice President for many years and she was a Mother of the church.  Ms. Katie’s, as we called her always purchase the flowers for special occasions for the beautification of the church.

The Lord spared her life and she was able to share so many wonderful times of joy, sorrow, laughter, caring and sharing with her family and friends.  Although her life seemed hard at times, she held fast to her faith, knowing that one day, the Lord would give her a reward. We loved Ms. Katie and we will miss her, but God love her also.
