Celebrate Spring at the 9th annual Kite Flying Festival. This year the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber has partnered with Frederick County Parks and Recreation Department to co-host the annual event which will take place Saturday, April 3rd at Sherando Park in Stephens City from 11:00am-3:00pm. The event is open to the public and admission is free.
The Chamber and FCPRD are encouraging families to bring children, dogs, friends, and kites and enjoy a day of outdoor fun. Members of the Richmond Air Force Kite Club will be on hand to discuss the science behind kite flying, the history of kites, and demonstrating some high-flying kite tricks. A limited number of kites will be given away to children, so participants are encouraged to arrive early. Food, beverages, and kites will be available for purchase.
The Top of Virginia Regional Chamber became involved to promote the event and help it grow. The Chamber supports quality family oriented events like the Kite Flying Festival because they contribute to the quality of life in our region. As an event partner for the first year, the Chamber is promoting this to Chamber members as well as to the greater community of Winchester, Frederick and Clarke Counties. There are great advantages of community wide promotional opportunities associated with this event. Businesses that would like to be a part of this great event and take advantage of promotional opportunities, are encouraged to call the Chamber at 540.662.4118.
