Kiwanis Club Helps Wee Angels

The Clarke County Kiwanis Club members held a work party to offer a bit of spring cleaning to the outdoor playground for Wee Angels Weekday Programs at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church in Berryville on Staurday.

In 2009, the Kiwanis  Club donated a playgound set which blew over during the recent February wind storms.

The club cleared away all pea gravel from the previous installation site and re-erected the playset on firmer ground before adding back the gravel. Due to state licencsing regulations, six inches of gravel must be placed within the fall zone of any piece of daycare equipment. While working, club members also placed other pieces of equipment more solidly on the graveled area.

“The staff and students at Wee Angels are most grateful for the efforts of the local Kiwanians” said Wee Angels program director Barbara Lee.

Wee Angels Weekday Programs For Children is a Child Day Center in Berryville Virginia. It has capacity of 120 students and accepts children up to the age of 12 years.
