LFCC Students Win Awards at Regional Forensics Competition

Middletown, VA – Seven Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) students placed in the College Forensic Association (CFA) Winter Tournament held at LFCC in Middletown, VA on December 2 and 3, 2011.  LFCC’s Derek Thomas won the After Dinner Speaking category and placed 2nd in Dramatic Interpretation. Jim Rogers placed 3rd in Informative Speaking and David Jezierski placed 3rd in Persuasive Speaking.  Chris Perry took 4th in Single Dramatic Interpretation, while Kim Jones received a 4th place in Impromptu Sales.  Tim Cook and Ed Pasqualini received 6th place in Dramatic Duo.  For the Team Sweepstakes, LFCC received 4th place.

Other schools participating in the event were Alderson-Broadus College, Bloomsburg University, Fayetteville University, Hampton University, Parkersburg, Randolph Macon College, Shepherd University, Westchester University, West Virginia University, and Wytheville Community College.

Team coach and Associate Professor of Speech, Andrea Ludwick, stated, “It was an honor to be able to host a regional tournament.  Having students place in several categories made it even more special.”
