Gordon said “I have attended this event for the past four years and it has been my goal to win a national title; it was nice to work hard and finally achieve the championship.”  On his friendship with Borst he said “John has been wrestling with me for years and we go to most of the same tournaments, it is nice to have a friend rooting for you every time in your corner.”

The US Open Wrestling Tournament was hosted at the Harrisburg Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and has been held for the last sixteen years.  Hundreds of wrestlers from over fifteen states from California to Alabama represented their home states and clubs in pursuit of a national championship title.
