The traffic pattern at the intersection of Route 618 (Lockes Mill Road) & Route 613 (Springsbury Road) will be permanently altered this week. According to VDOT representative Jerry Kopp, VDOT received several complaints about the safety of the intersection because of obstructed lines of sight. As a result on June 9, crews will install an additional stop sign on Sprinsbury road. This will allow traffic that is already stopped at the intersection to see oncoming traffic.
Drivers should be extremely alert when entering the intersection. Temporary “New Traffic Pattern” signage will be positioned throughout the intersection to alert drivers and will be left in the area for 60-180 days to ensure drivers have time to become accustom to the change.
