Alda Parker Brannon, 93, of Clear Brook, VA died Monday January 25, 2010 at the Winchester Medical Center.
Alda was born April 6, 1916 in Petersburg, WV, the daughter of Arthur and Janie Kimble Parker. She was a homemaker and a long time member of Rest United Methodist Church.
She married Thomas O. Brannon on December 24, 1934 in Frederick Maryland. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1980.
Mrs. Brannon is survived three children all living in Winchester; Lowell T. Brannon and his wife, Patricia, Phyllis Boden Fish and her husband, Dr. Raymond Fish and Joyce Brannon Newlin; seven grandchildren, Rick Brannon and his wife Rebecca of Stephens City, VA, Scott Brannon and his wife Tinker of Winchester, Jamie Brannon and his wife Shannon of Clear Brook, Pam Williams and her husband Gary of Winchester, Billy Boden of Brucetown, VA, Kelly Kinser and her husband Robert of Mechanicsville, VA and Rodney Newlin and his wife Lora of Palmyra; eight great grand children, Jason Brannon and his wife Tine, Matt, Kyle and Alex Brannon, Cody Williams, and Meredith , Paige and Hannah Kinser and one sister, Ruth Parker Barley of Winchester.
Two brothers, Gladstone Parker of Easton, MD and Arthur Parker of Winchester and two sisters Eva Snyder Widmyer of Lahmansville, WV and Esther P. Seabright of Winchester all preceded her in death.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Townsend and Pastor J. Robert Schoeman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard L. Brannon, D. Scott Brannon, James A. Brannon, Rodney T. Newlin, William B. Boden and Jason L. Brannon.
Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m.
