Arlene England Ruhl, 90, of Winchester, Virginia, died Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury, Winchester, Virginia.
Mrs. Ruhl was born May 4, 1921 in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, the daughter of Leland C. and Effie Jones England.
She was retired from the U. S. Government where she was an Executive Administrative Secretary for the National Bureau of Standards.
She was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church; Shenandoah Retreat Association; and the Order of the Eastern Star in Kensington, Maryland.
She married Robert Fulton Ruhl on November 13, 1944 in Seattle, Washington. Mr. Ruhl died on December 12, 1999.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Ruhl of Winchester, VA and Douglas Ruhl and his wife, Kathryn of Eagle River, AK; two sisters, Vea Johnson of Iowa City, IA and Ruth Whiteford of Michigan; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by two sisters, Rachael and Lorraine.
A memorial service will be held at Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury at a later date. Burial will be held at sea.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westminster Canterbury Fellowship Fund, 300 Westminster-Canterbury Dr., Winchester, VA 22603.
