Obituary for Benjamin F. Gray

Benjamin Franklin Gray, 81, of Berryville, Virginia, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Gray was born February 22, 1930 in Jefferson County, West Virginia, the son of Edward Franklin and Mary Olga Gray.

He was retired after 46 years of service at Oldcastle Supreme Concrete & Block, Inc., Winchester, Virginia.

He had served in the National Guard with the Berryville Unit.

He married ElsiMarie N. Gray on July 4, 1962 in Maryland.

Surviving with his wife of 49 years are two daughters, Debbie Marie Gray at home and Sara L. Hartsell; a son-in-law Tad Hartselll; two grandchildren, Hayden Wyatt Hartsell and Emili Caytlin Hartsell all of Clarke County, VA; two sisters, Mary E. Gray of Shenandoah Junction, WV and Helen Smith of Charles Town, WV; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A son, Benjamin W. Gray two brothers, Thomas L. Gray and Robert E. Gray, and a sister, Frances I. Boyd all preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 A. M. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville with Dr. Ken Smith and Pastor James Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.

Pallbearers will be Merl Nesselrodt, David Orndorff, Scott Herndon, Eddie Hartsell, Allen Grubb and Ben Hartsell. Honorary pallbearers will be D. A. Herndon, Hugh Clark and Doug Shenk.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M. Friday evening at the funeral home.
