    To David’s family,
I offer my sincerest sympathies. You and the art world have lost a great man. I have been home a lot the last few years, from heart problems. I rarely get to talk shop with fellow artists. When David is on PBS I am delighted. He was one of the few to teach honest to goodness art. No gimmicks, no crutches. Just classic painting. He will be missed.
