Obituary for David William Kackley

photoDavid William Kackley, 54, of Gore, Virginia, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, in Clarke County, Virginia.
Mr. Kackley was born June 29, 1955, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Lawrence R. and Leota Decker Kackley.
He was a firearm and defensive driving instructor at Bill Scott Raceway and was a former law enforcement officer with Leesburg, Frederick County, and Stafford County Sheriff’s Offices. He retired from Frederick County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy.
He had served in the United States Army. He was a graduate of the Virginia Forensics Science Academy.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Winchester where he sang in the choir and in the Redeemed Quartet, was a Sunday School Teacher, and served as a Deacon. He was a member of the NRA where he was a firearm instructor. He was affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 107. He was a Charter Member with Virginia Homicide Investigators Association. He was a former member and grew up in First Baptist Church in Woodbridge, VA, as well as a former member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Midland, VA.
He married Denise Wehrenberg Kackley on August 30, 1975, in LaCross, Wisconsin.
Surviving with his wife are his father of Dale City, VA; two daughters, Holly Kackley James of Bealeton, VA and Heather Beth Kackley of Gore, VA; a son, Austin Bryant Kackley of Gore, VA; a sister, Rebecca Kackley Voss of Dale City, VA; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A. M. Friday, June 4, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, Winchester, VA with Rev. George Fletcher and Rev. Kristin Whitesides officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 P. M. in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Voss, William Todd James, Greg Locke, Lee Chewey, Ed Medina, Skip Dunlap, Robert Voss, and Tim Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelvin Hutson and Matthew Williams.
Military Honors will be provided by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Honor Guard and the Department of Homeland Security Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M. Thursday evening at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, VA.
