Obituary for Deborah K. Jackson

Deborah Karen Jackson, 57, of Winchester, Virginia, died November 8, 2010 in the Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Jackson was born July 9, 1953 in Berryville, Virginia, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Slaughter, Jr. and Mary Virginia Johnson Slaughter.

She worked as a shipping clerk for Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Harrisonburg, VA.
She was a member of Serenity Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Martinsburg; Sabbath School Superintendent; Personal Ministries Secretary; Sabbath School Teacher; and Assistant Adventist Youth Society.

She married Ernest Jackson on February 5, 1972 in Berryville, Virginia.

Surviving with her husband of Winchester, VA and mother of Berryville, VA are two daughters, Shawn Jackson of Winchester, VA and Benita Hall of Stephens City, VA; a son, Tremayne Jackson of Johnson City, TN; a sister, Ann Twyman of Charles Town, WV; a brother, Benjamin Slaughter III of Front Royal, VA; and five grandchildren.

A sister, Sandra Lee Slaughter and her half-brother, Clarence Stanton preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 A. M. Monday, November 15, 2010 at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville with Pastor Vernon Cartwright officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Valley Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Williams, John Washington, Clarence Dokes, Darrell Washington, James Dokes and Stanley Reid.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P. M. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Serenity Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 25 Duke Rd., Martinsburg, WV 25404.
