Mrs. Painter was born July 7, 1920 in Mineral County, West Virginia, the daughter of T. C. Ferrebee, Sr. and Sadie Bobo Ferrebee.
She was a homemaker and a member of Crums United Methodist Church in Berryville.
Delphia loved to be with her family and friends and always enjoyed the companionship of her cats.
She married Marvin Kenneth Painter on November 6, 1937 in Hagerstown, Maryland. Mr. Painter died June 17, 2003.
Surviving are a son, Lloyd Allen Painter and his wife, Connie, of Front Royal, VA; a daughter, Sandra Painter-Sibert of Winchester, VA; a sister, Wilma Foster of Laurel, MD; four grandchildren, Kathryn Brubaker-Wall and her husband, Cliff, of Raleigh, NC, Steven T. Painter of Stephens City, VA, Deborah Sibert-Edwards of Winchester, VA, and Daniel E. Sibert and his wife, Geanita of Winchester, VA; and ten great-grandchildren, Rebecca Wall, Sarah Wall, Hannah Wall, Marcus Painter, Collin Painter, Mallory Painter, Elliott Connolly, John Sibert, Mathew Sibert, and Megan Sibert.
Five sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville with Pastor Hyo J. Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.
Pallbearers will be Steven Painter, Marcus Painter, Cliff Wall, Robert Ferrebee, John Hardesty, and Ronnie Huff. Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert Painter, Daniel Sibert, and Paul Lynn Painter.
The family will receive friends 7:00 – 9:00 P. M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
