Obituary for Earl S. Bailey, Jr.

Earl Swires Bailey, Jr., 79, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Sunday, September 12, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. Bailey was born October 7, 1930 in Frederick County, Virginia, the son of Earl S. Bailey, Sr., and Fern Luttrell Bailey.

He worked for Abex Corporation in Winchester for 41 years.

He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1952.

He was a graduate of Stephens City High School, Class of 1948.

He married Eleanor Butler on September 21, 1967 in Upperville, Virginia.   Mrs. Bailey died on January 24, 2007.

Surviving are one daughter, Kelly B. Cook of Stephens City, VA; two sons, Daniel Bailey of Richmond, VA and David Bailey of Powhatan, VA; two brothers, Douglas Bailey and Bill Bailey; a sister, Betty Nichols, all of Winchester, VA; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A son, Clinton Earl Bailey and three sisters, Evelyn Staples, Dorothy Keckley and Virginia Solenberger preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P. M. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Stephens City with Pastor Larry Veach officiating.   Burial will follow in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester with military honors.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Bailey, David Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Steve Cook, Andrew Cook, and Brady Cook.   Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Bailey, Caleb Soeun and Max Davis.

The family will receive friends 7:00 – 9:00 P. M. Friday evening at the funeral home.
