Edward Nestor, 83, of Charles Town, West Virginia, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 in the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Mr. Nestor was born January 14, 1928 in Franklin, New Jersey, the son of William Christopher and Fannie Oliver Nestor.
He was an operations agent for American Airlines.
He served in the Merchant Marines and the U. S. Army during WWII.
He was the former mayor of Purcellville. He was a member of the VFW and the Elks Lodge.
He married Betty Harvey on May 19, 1956 in Lynchburg, Virginia. Mrs. Nestor died November 18, 2003.
Surviving are two sons, William Garland Nestor (Anita) of Summit Point, WV and Edward Scott Nestor (Mary) of Clarke County, VA; a daughter, Anne Christopher Nestor (David) of Winchester, VA; two grandchildren, Aimee Lea Nestor and Jeremy William Nestor; and two great-grandchildren, Andre and Cierra Yates.
Matthew Ryan Nestor, his youngest grandson, preceded him in death.
Edward was the youngest of 10 children with Claire Hoade, of Clarke County, VA as the only surviving sibling.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville with Pastor John Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.
Military honors will be provided by the Clarke County Honor Guard.
