Franklin Delano Roosevelt Knott, 77, of Charles Town, WV passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Willow Tree Manor at Charles Town, WV.
He was born November 22, 1932 in Berryville, VA and was the son of the late Ernest McKinley Knott and Virgie Hurt Knott.
He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Frank was a retired machine operator mechanic 1st class from the Halltown Paperboard Co. with over 25 years of service. His grandchildren captured his heart most especially.
He is survived by one daughter, Danetta Calhoun and husband, Anthony of Inwood, WV; one son, Douglas “Butch” Higgs and wife, Maxine of Tunnelton, WV; three sisters, Mary Kirpatrick, Theresa Smoot and Elizabeth Domer, thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his two wives, Fonda Bailey Knott and Elva “Sis” Manuel Knott, and three sisters, Alice Smoot, Shirley Smallwood and Ruth Douglas.
Services will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Charles Town/Harpers Ferry, WV with Pastor Shawn Coley officiating. Interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, WV.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to services on Monday.
