Hall Delph, beloved husband, dad, papaw and father-in-law, age 82, passed from this life into the loving arms of his Savior on Thursday, March 18, 2010, surrounded by his family at his home in Berryville.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Margaret Delph of Berryville, VA, four children, Jeanie Mullins and her husband Ron of Partlow, VA, Gerald “Sonny” Delph and wife Shawn of Warrenton, VA, Connie Harrington and husband Rick of Winchester, VA, Roy Delph and wife Pamela of Berryville, VA, seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one sister Nan Wade and one brother Frank Delph and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Mae Delph, four sisters, Mildred Coomer, Lillie Russell, Corrina Wade and Bonnie Johnson, one brother, Charlie Delph, one grandchild Jacob Delph and a very special cousin, Patsy Reasor.
Originally from Lee County, Hall moved his family to Loudoun County where he worked as a dairyman for many years. He eventually retired from Fairfax County Public Works in 1992. Hall was a faithful member of Fairwood Freewill Baptist Church for 31 years and Meadow Brook Baptist Church for the past nine years. He loved God and family.
Friends may call on Friday, March 19, 2010, where the family will receive guests from 6 to 9 pm at the Meadow Brook Freewill Baptist Church, 2425 First St. Middletown, VA 22645. Funeral services will be held at the church on Saturday at 11 am, with Pastor Roger Mullins and Pastor Lester Horton officiating.
Interment will follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, VA.
