Helen Virginia Lanham, 90, of Boyce, Virginia, died Monday, January 11, 2010 in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Lanham was born August 23, 1919 in Front Royal, Virginia, the daughter of George Dewey and Fannie Ramey Johns.
She was a homemaker, a member of Boyce United Methodist Church, and Boyce Fire Department.
Her husband, Lynwood Randolph Lanham, was a longtime Mayor of Boyce. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1981. A brother, Thomas Dewey Johns, and her first husband, Herman Gold Lanham also preceded her in death.
Surviving is a nephew, Robert Johns of Jacksonville, AR; and cousins, Gerald Dulaney and his wife Margaret of Winchester, VA, Jack Starry and his wife Georgia of Alexandria, VA, and Marjorie Eby of Easton, MD.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville with Rev. Adam Sowder officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Front Royal, VA.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 A. M. Friday morning prior to the service at the funeral home.
