Obituary for Irvin F. Barb

Irvin Franklin Barb, 77, of Berryville, Virginia, died Monday, March 21, 2011 in the Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Barb was born October 12, 1933 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of John Wesley and Beulah May Middleton Barb.

He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He had worked at Datalux, Mt. Weather, and was president and broker for Valley Realty.

He was a member of the Winchester SVARC amateur radio club and his call sign was W4DHU.   He was a member of the Valley Fight League and Blue Ridge Area Board of Realtors.   He was a single engine private aircraft pilot.

Surviving with his wife, Margarette Jane Barb, are two sons, Robert Gerald Barb of Harpers Ferry, WV and Duane Collins Barb of Berryville, VA; two daughters, Cheryl Anne Ash of Berryville, VA and Holly Sue Silveous of Charles Town, WV; a brother, James E. Barb; a sister, Shirley Gray, both of Berryville, VA; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, Garland Barb, Donald Barb and his twin brother, Ivan Wesley Barb and a sister, Evelyn Jennings preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P. M. Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville with Pastor Darrell Waller officiating.   Burial will follow in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester with military honors provided by the Clarke County Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be members of Valley Fight League.

The family will receive friends 7:00 – 9:00 P. M. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
