Obituary for Lambert C. Tomblin

Lambert Carlton Tomblin, 75, from Boyce, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 with his family by his side.
Lambert was born on August 15, 1934 to Amos Tomblin and Ethel Elizabeth Gray Tomblin.   He was baptized in Methodist faith.   He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was a life long fan of the Washington Redskins and Nascar.   He was known as a hard working and good natured person who never met a stranger and was dearly loved by family and members of the community.   Lambert retired after 40 years of diligent work for O’Sullivan and Lear Corporation.   After assisting his wife, Virginia Tomblin, with her work as Clarke County Animal Control, he cared for her with love and devotion until she passed away last year.   His love and wisdom will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him.
Lambert is survived by his three brothers, Amos Leon Tomblin of Fincastle, Virginia and wife, Marilyn Tucker Tomblin, William Leroy Tomblin of Fortson, Georgia and wife, Norma Lou Ashby Tomblin, and Amory Melton Tomblin of Boyce, Virginia and wife, Stephanie Breeden Tomblin.
Although Lambert and his wife never had children of their own, he is survived by many nieces and nephews who will miss the guidance of a man who was an uncle, a father figure, and a role model for us all.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Raythel Tomblin, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage and by his parents.   May they be reunited in Heaven.
A funeral service will be held at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home in Berryville, VA on Tuesday, August, 10, 2010 at 2 pm.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 9 from 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
