Lawrence Oliver (Fuzzy) Rhodes, 58, of Charles Town, WV, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, VA.
Fuzzy was born ay January 30, 1952 in Leesburg, VA, the son of the late Ralph L. Rhodes and Mary F. Rhodes of Berryville, VA.
Surviving with his mother, is his wife of 28 years, Helen A. (Unger) Rhodes; a son, Lawrence (Larry) Rhodes of Front Royal, VA; three grandchildren, Morgan of Bloomery, WV, and Hailey and Justin Rhodes of Front Royal, VA; a brother, James Rhodes of Winchester, VA; and four sisters, Peggy Hash of Berryville, VA, Alma Jernigan of Cheltenham, MD, Thelma Ryman of Gore, VA; and Mary Fox of Hedgesville, WV.
A brother, Sidney Rhodes preceded him in death.
Fuzzy was a Pentecostal Minister for many years, a truck driver all of his adult life and a diehard Redskins fan. He will be sorely missed.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville, VA with Rev. Mark Unger and Rev. Allen Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Gerrardstown, WV.
Pallbearers will be Elzie Longerbeam, Tom Rickard, Roger Ryman, Bill Stinson, Fred Brittain, and Steve Batts. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Mages, Irvin King, William Thompson, and Rev. Faircloth.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P. M. Friday evening at the funeral home.
