Lloyd Carlton Burner, 85, of Berryville, Virginia, died Friday, January 8, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Burner was born July 25, 1924 in Clarke County, Virginia, the son of Henry and Mary Edith Burner.
He was a retired farmer and an avid gardener and hunter.
He was a member of Berryville Baptist Church and the Maryland Virginia Co-op (Dairymen Inc).
He married Helen Louise Burner on March 2, 1949 in Frederick, Maryland. Mrs. Burner died June 16, 2001.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Mary Frances Crim and her husband, Phil of Berryville, VA, Nancy Shirley and her husband, Cliff of Berryville, VA, and Cynthia Abrell and her fiancÃ©, James Dawson of Romney, WV; a son Richard Quinn Burner and his wife, Cindy Raye of Winchester, VA; a brother, Dewey Conrad Burner and his wife, Charlotte of Martinsburg, WV; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Ralph Dominick Burner and Lloyd Allen Burner, a daughter, Karen Florence Burner, and a sister, Geneva Seal preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville with Rev. Dan Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, VA.
Pallbearers will be Scott Crim, Jason Crim, Mike Burner, Dean Burner, Cody Leeper, and Robert Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Ike Lloyd, Russell Lloyd, Kenneth Lloyd, Basil Ceravalo, James Harrell, Shawn Bell, Patrick Bell, Carlton (Hack) Chappel, and J. R. Brill.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P. M. Monday evening at the funeral home.
