Lucy May Baker, 76, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, November 21, 2010 in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Baker was born February 20, 1934 in Frederick County, Virginia, the daughter of Loring Edward and Margaret May Vann Cornell.
She was retired from the Carper’s Valley Golf Course where she had worked as a waitress manager.
She married Edgar Charles Baker, Sr. on June 5, 1953 in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Surviving with her husband is a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Taylor of Washington, PA; a son, Edgar Charles Baker, Jr. of Winchester, VA; a sister, Dorothy Marie Cornell Leonard of Springfield, VA; a brother, Robert Edward Cornell of Winchester, VA; four grandchildren, Sonja Rae Dinges of Kernstown, VA, Jack Troester of Michigan, Hillary Tai of Chicago, IL and Nicholas Troester of Princeton, NJ; and two great grandchildren, Daniel and Benjamin Troester of Michigan.
A daughter, Linda Mae Dinges Edge and a sister, Lorine Virginia Cornell Norris preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville with Rev. Dr. Joseph P. Roby officiating. Burial will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P. M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
