Obituary for Mable H. Lewis

Mable Hurt Lewis, 91, of Winchester, Virginia, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at her residence.

Mrs. Lewis was born July 10, 1918 in Lexington, Tennessee, the daughter of Robert T. and Etta Dee Owen Hart.

She was a retired office manager for Alltran Associates.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Epsicopal on the Hill in Winchester where she served on the Alter Guild, Treasuer, and Senior Warden.

She married Charles C. Lewis on March 23, 1943 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.   Mr. Lewis died July 16, 2007.

Surviving are son, Charles R. Lewis of Winchester, VA; a daughter, Marian O. Lewis of Bennington, VT; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

A sister, Lucy Odel, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A. M. Monday, April 12, 2010 at St. Paul’s Episcopal on the Hill in Winchester with The Very Rev. Dr. Hilary B. Smith officiating.   Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.

Pallbearers will be Michael Davis, Steven Davis, Brent Davis, Greg Lambert, Charles Lewis, and Joe O’Hara.   Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Krueger and Bev Whiting.

The family will receive friends 7:00 – 9:00 P. M. Sunday evening at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home in Berryville.
