Marian Dobson Duffel, 92, of Winchester, Virginia, where she was a resident of the Willows of Meadow Branch, died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Duffel was born January 29, 1918 in Savannah, Georgia, the daughter of Hezekiah Dobson and Nettie Wise Dobson.
She was a retired Foreign Service medical officer for the United States State Department.
She was a member of the Westover Baptist Church in Arlington. She attended Atlantic Christian College (Barton) in Wilson, North Carolina where she received her RN degree and then attended the Medical College of Virginia where she received her diploma of Nursing.
She married Earl Seay Duffel on January 15, 1941 in Washington, DC. Mr. Duffel died on March 24, 1967.
Surviving is her only child, Sandra Kinsey and her husband, Larry Kinsey of Leesburg, VA; two grandchildren, Bill Kinsey of Leesburg, VA and; Joy Kinsey Mercer of Gainesville, VA; and two great-grandchildren, Casey and Evan both of Gainesville, VA.
Two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
A private graveside service will be held at the Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington, VA with Rev. Jeffrey “Phil” Phillips officiating.
