Marvin Lee Campbell, 91, of Stephens City, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at his residence.
He was born July 23, 1918 in Page County, VA the son of Edgar and Maude Foster Campbell.
He married Margarette Cash December 23, 1972 in Winchester.
Mr. Campbell served in the US Army infantry from 1937 until 1945.
He retired as a driver with Hemmingway Transport and A.J. Novick.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Linda Donette Porter and her husband Randall of Montrose, VA, Vickie Kay Fox of Winchester and Rebecca Jean Cather and her husband Tom of Berryville; a stepson, Hoyt Wooddell, Jr. and his wife Donna of Front Royal, two stepdaughters, Elsie Marie Clegg and her husband Ronald of Front Royal and Elizabeth Irene Sonner and her husband Billy of Winchester; four sisters, Madeline Sheetz of Capon Bridge, WV, Ludell Suddith of Stephens City, Margaret Walters of Middletown and Ruby Orange of Roanoke; a brother, Joe Campbell of Strasburg; seventeen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Kenneth Lee Campbell; a sister, Skeeter Tomblin and two brothers, Edward Campbell and Haywood Campbell are all deceased.
A funeral service will be Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Jeffrey Barbour officiating.
Pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
Military honors will be provided by V.F.W. Post 2123 of Winchester.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in Phelps Funeral Chapel, 5095 Main Street, Stephens City where the family will gather on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. for a procession to the cemetery.
