Mary Edna Grim, 101, of Stephens City, VA, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, in a local nursing home.
Miss Grim was born October 3, 1908 in Stephens City, the daughter of Thomas Arthur and Mae Painter Grim. She was a Chief Operator for C & P Telephone Company retiring after 30 years of service. She was a member of Stephens City United Methodist Church, the Telephone Pioneers, and volunteered at Winchester Medical Center for over 30 years, where she was affectionately known as “The Cookie Lady.”
Her sister, Hazel Virginia Ewing, and brother, Calvin Grim, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her nieces, Frances Ewing Carbaugh, Betty Ewing York, and Janet Ewing Schaumburg; and her nephews, Arthur Lee Ewing, Ray E. Ewing, Thomas A. Ewing, and Donald S. Ewing.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 14, at Green Hill Cemetery in Stephens City with Rev. Jeff Butcher officiating.
