Obituary for Peter B. Cashin

Peter Bliss Cashin of Sterling, VA and Tunkhannock, PA, died on Monday, September 20, 2010 at INOVA Alexandria Hospital, Alexandria, VA.

Mr. Cashin was born March 23, 1944 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the son of the late Dr. John Patrick Cashin and Jane Bliss Prince Cashin, Tunkhannock, PA.

He graduated in 1962 from Tunkhannock High School, Tunkhannock, PA, and after serving in the U.S. Army, Co. A, 26th Signal Battalion as a Cryptographic Operator where he was stationed in Da Nang, Vietnam and Lenggries, Germany, he received a B.A. from Cumberland College, Lebanon, TN and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN.

Mr. Cashin worked in Public Relations and Communications with ITT in Washington, D.C. and when he moved to VA he pursued his interest in hand crafting Boomerangs and furniture refinishing.

Surviving is his wife, Vivienne Cheyenne Kibler Cashin of Sterling, VA; and daughter, Lisa Aynsley Cashin of Marshall, VA.

A funeral service will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville, VA. Burial will follow Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, VA with military honors provided by the Winchester VFW Post 2123.

The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
