Official Trick-or-Treating Hours In and Around Clarke County 2011

Prepare for the onslaught! Harry Potter, The Green Lantern, Captain America, Elmo, Wolverine, Smurfs, and Transformers are all headed for your door and they have one thing on their mind…candy. According to the National Confectioners Association the average, consumers will spend about $21.05 on Halloween candy this year, up slightly from an estimated $20.29 in 2010. However Berryville seems far from the average. A spot check with several residents put the figure between $50.00 and $75.00 to ward off the candy gobbling mobs.

Halloween falls on a Monday this year, sparing us from the uproar created last year when the ghoulish holiday was observed on October 30th because the 31st fell on a Sunday. The forecast looks good so far, with meteorologists calling for mostly cloudy skies and a low around 39. So bundle up and be safe.
