Police Charge Two in Connection with Larceny Spree in Berryville

A cooperative effort with surrounding jurisdictions helped Berryville Police charge two suspects in a larceny spree that occurred Monday in the Town of Berryville.

On the morning of April 4, 2011 the Berryville Police Department responded to numerous incidences of larcenies from automobiles and garages in the Battlefield Estates and Hermitage subdivisions. Residents reported as many as thirteen separate incidents between the two subdivisions.

As Berryville Police were working the investigation, the Winchester Police Department responded to a similar incident of a larceny from automobile in progress on the morning of April 5, 2011.   Through mutual cooperation and communication between the Berryville and Winchester Police Departments, three people of interest who were involved in the Winchester incident were interviewed in relation to the incidents in Berryville.

As a result, Scott Tyler Levine, 23 years old with no fixed address and Jessica Shirley Figgins, 28 years old with no fixed address were charged with three counts each of grand larceny on April 5, 2011 in relation to the incidents in Berryville.

The investigation is still ongoing.   Anyone with information about these events is asked to contact the Berryville Police Department at (540) 955-3863 or (540) 955-1234.   Those who wish to remain anonymous may also contact the Winchester-Frederick-Clarke Crime Solvers at (540) 665-TIPS.
